Silver Garnet Post Earrings, .935 Argentium Sterling Silver, Handcrafted Art Deco Design by Two Silversmiths

$285.00

Description

These Silver Garnet Post Earrings feature 12×6 mm Garnet faceted briolettes. We began creating these earrings by etching the Art Deco design into 20 gauge .935 Argentium Sterling Silver. Next we enhanced the etched areas with a blackened patina. Finally, we wanted to add something special for the wearer.  So, we added a hand scribed unique design on the backs of the earrings.  Also, we used surgical stainless steel for the posts.  The earnut bullet clutches are .925 Sterling Silver. These Silver Garnet Post Earrings measure 1-1/2″ x 3/4″.

These lovely ladies are elegant.  The faceted Garnet Briolettes sparkle when the light catches them.  The versatility of the color red allows you to wear the earrings with many colors.  For example, they pair well with turquoise, black, purple, golden yellow.

An English professor of silversmithing invented Argentium sterling silver in 1996.  Traditional sterling silver has a pure silver content of 92.5%.  In contrast, Argentium has a pure silver content of 93.5%.  A small amount of the element germanium replaces some of the copper.  As a result, this sterling silver is highly tarnish resistant, more workable and harder than traditional sterling silver.  Many people who are allergic to traditional sterling silver can wear Argentium sterling silver without a problem.
